The Division of Digestive Diseases has several areas of special clinical expertise and interest. These include interventional and therapeutic endoscopy, pancreatic disease, inflammatory bowel disease, hepatology, and esophageal disease. We provide services at the Wyoming Family Practice Center, University Medical Arts Building - Piedmont, University Pointe Medical Office Building - West Chester, The University Endoscopy Center, Inc. - Montgomery and at the Outpatient Surgical Hospital in West Chester. The Pancreatic Disease Center at the University of Cincinnati (PDC-UC) specializes in the diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment of a wide range of pancreatic problems including complicated or recurrent acute pancreatitis, chronic pancreatitis, cystic lesions of the pancreas, and pancreatic neoplasms. Staffed by some of the country's foremost pancreatic disease specialists, the PDC-UC facilitates rapid evaluation of patients utilizing the most advanced and comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services available anywhere in the world, such as endoscopic ultrasound procedures, advanced biliary endoscopy, pancreatic endoscopy, endoscopic oncology and biliary manometry. Several of these programs are unique in our region. We have developed a pancreatic function laboratory, which allows us to assess the function of the pancreas as well as its structure. We are one of a handful of laboratories in the U.S. with these capabilities. Our physicians both initiate and participate in a large number of clinical research protocols. Our Internet site is: www.ucpancreas.org. We are also developing interdisciplinary clinical and research groups in the areas of inflammatory bowel disease and swallowing. These groups involve members of the departments of medicine, surgery, otolaryngology, pathology, pediatrics and radiology. NEW AND ESTABLISHED PATIENTS: Call 475-7505 to make an appointment. |
