Internal Medicine Students Win at ACP
Three medical students from the Department of Internal Medicine won awards for their academic presentations at the Ohio Chapter of American College of Physicians (ACP) meeting in Columbus.
Callie Coombs, fourth year medical student, won first place and a trip to the national ACP meeting for her poster titled "Painful Perianal Plaque: The Great Imposter."
Jon Hassel, UC IV, took second place for his poster called "Clinical and Immunologic Responses after Desensitization in a Woman with Localized Human Seminal Plasma Protein Hypersensitivity."
Tricia Wise-Draper, UC IV, received honorable mention for her presentation titled "Mollaret's Meningitis: A Cause of Benign, Recurrent, Aseptic Meningitis."
ACP, a national organization of internists, is the largest medical-specialty organization and second-largest physician group in the United States. Its membership of 126,000 includes internists, internal medicine subspecialists, and medical students, residents, and fellows.
